For Our Patients.

What To Expect During Your First Visit

We understand how daunting and stressful your first visit with us may be.

Often it is hard to know what questions to ask- we encourage you to bring a list in with you and pen/paper to write things down to make it easier to remember the discussion with your specialist.

Upon arrival with our reception team for your first visit, we will confirm all of your details, take your photo for our system and then take you to our weigh bay to record your current height and weight. We record these details as any medications we may prescribe are all based on your current BMI.

Your specialist has the knowledge and skills to explain your diagnosis and the treatment options available to you. The primary job of a medical oncologist is managing cancer.

During the course of your treatment, your specialist will diagnose and assess the stage of your cancer, recommend and implement a treatment plan and monitor your progress.

Depending on your circumstances, different treatments and combinations of treatments will be discussed with you.

Common treatments include chemotherapy, combined chemotherapy and radiotherapy, immunotherapy, clinical trials, hormone therapy and follow-up care. You will be given information about your treatment drugs, their effectiveness and side effects.

You are always welcome to bring along a support person, family member or friend to your appointments (Current covid-19 restrictions permitting)

Any imaging examinations/appointments (ie CT, MRI, X-Ray, Ultrasound and Nuclear scans etc.) required within a month, will be booked by our staff. Otherwise, we will fax the referral form off for you and get you to contact the imaging department to confirm an appointment-  please make sure you have the procedure performed at least one week prior to your next appointment with the doctor as this helps ensure we have the results back in time to discuss at your appointment.

In order to maintain our standards of patient care our fees are set to reflect the added cost of services provided.
Full payment of your account is required on the day of your consultation.

We accept cash, cheques, most credit cards and EFTPOS.
