Border Medical Oncology is recognised as a leading regional centre for excellence in cancer care. Border Medical Oncology is a key partner of the Hume Regional Integrated Cancer Service - East Hume(Border Clinical Cancer Network). Via this network we are able to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary cancer care and access various support services.
Border Medical Oncology was established in 1998.
The purpose in establishing the practice was to provide an oncology service in the North East and Southern Riverina Regions of Victoria and New South Wales.
1999 - Border Medical Oncology moving to the Murray Valley Private Hospital in Wodonga
2000 - Expansion of the Research Unit to conduct and monitor clinical oncology trial programs.
2001 - Dr Kerrie Clarke commenced as an associate with Dr Craig Underhill.
2002 - Commencement of Oncology Registrar Placements in partnership with Greater Southern Area Health Service
2003 - Dr Christopher Steer commenced as an associate.
2005 - Joined ICS
2008 - Dr Richard Eek joined the team as an associate, in August
2009 - NSW Premier’s Award for outstanding Cancer Research presented to the Research Unity – Highlighting innovation in Cancer Clinical Trials
2011 - Announcements of $65m Regional Cancer Grant – to be built on-site at Albury Wodonga Health – (Albury campus)
2012 - NSW Premier’s Award for outstanding Cancer Research presented to the Research Unit – highlighting innovation in Cancer Clinical Trials.
2016 - Border Medical Oncology relocated to new AWH - Albury site.
2019 - Dr Anish Puliyayil joined the team as an associate.
